Mount Zion United Methodist Church was originally founded as Mt Zion Episcopal Church in May 18, 1866 in a section of East Arlington know as Lone star , Florida. Mount Zion historically is a family church, and was founded by several spirit filled families of which many of their descendants are active today. Those founding families are the Brooks, Demp's, White, McQueen , Polke and Brown. And as the founders, they created an atmosphere for love, dedication and compassion for all.
The present name Mount Zion United Methodist Church was applied during the merger of the Methodist Churches at the Spring Conference.
This church starting worship as a Community of Faith in 1867.
